Pitohui informs Llenn about the upcoming Squad Jam team battle royale tournament, which follows the previous Ballet of Bullets event. Because Pitohui cannot attend due to real life obligations, she encourages Llenn to join with a male partner. Llenn agrees after her friend misses a concert on the same day. She meets her assigned partner, M, and discovers she has been named team leader as part of a strategy. Meanwhile, Karen composes a fan letter to singer Elsa Kanzaki, explaining how her music supported her during difficult periods. On the day of the Squad Jam, M provides Llenn with a combat knife to serve as a backup weapon before the competition begins.
