Tachiguishi Retsuden

In the aftermath of World War II, a makeshift soba noodle stand in Tokyo becomes the setting for the arrival of a man who orders a raw egg with his meal—Moongaze Ginji, a famed Fast Food Grifter. As time moves forward, other figures emerge: Foxy Croquette O-Gin, a mysterious woman linked to the 1960 anti-Japan-US Security Treaty movement; Crying Inumaru, a drifting figure during Japan's economic boom; Cold Badger Masa, whose death brought attention to Fast Food Grifters; Beefbowl Ushigoro, who disrupted a major gyudon chain; and Hamburger Tetsu, who stunned the fast food industry. These individuals, known as Fast Food Grifters, appear and vanish with changing eating habits, leaving their mark on the underbelly of Japan’s culinary culture.
