The conflict with Van commences, utilizing Lorelei's power to overwhelm the heroes. Tear counters by singing the Grand Fonic Hymn, resulting in Van's defeat. Luke stays behind to operate the Key, promising Tear he will return before everyone departs. As Hod collapses, Luke catches Asch. Two years later, Tear and the others gather at the Cove, the site where their adventure began, to memorialize Luke. A man approaches the group, stating he arrived to fulfill his promise to Tear. The group gathers to greet him. Although the man appears to be a physical combination of Luke and Asch, a final view reveals he carries his sword in the same manner as Luke.
