In an effort to appease public sentiment, Rossiu stages a coup against Simon, resulting in the latter's arrest. However, the situation shifts dramatically when the Anti-Spirals initiate a massive assault on Kamina City. Faced with this existential threat, Rossiu is forced to release Simon from custody. He then compels Simon to pilot the Gurren-Lagann to combat the invading forces. Before allowing Simon to engage the enemy, Rossiu employs extreme measures to ensure Simon remains under his strict control, highlighting the desperate political and military maneuvering occurring within the city during this critical conflict.
