Ep. 2: Tezuka and Sanada clash in a high-stakes match involving the Phantom and Zone techniques.
Three years after a junior tournament upset, Tezuka Kunimitsu faces Sanada Genichirou in a critical rematch. Sanada neutralizes Tezuka’s Muga no Kyochi by sealing the Lightning and Shadow, forcing Tezuka to deploy the risky Tezuka Phantom to reverse spin. The intense exchange damages both players, with Sanada’s legs suffering from repeated Lightning strikes. Yukimura intervenes, directing Sanada to use Forest techniques against the Phantom to secure three championships for Rikkaidai. Tezuka exhausts his arm continuing the Phantom until Sanada reaches match point. In the final rally, Tezuka abandons the Phantom, using the Tezuka Zone to control the Lightning. The shot destroys his racquet, but the ball lands precariously on the net cord. Sanada wills it to fall on Tezuka’s side, securing Rikkaidai’s victory. Sanada then shakes Tezuka’s hand, declaring he will never play him again.
