During the second doubles final, the Inui-Kaido duo faces Yanagi-Kirihara. Despite Inui's data and Kaido's Tornado Snake, they are overpowered. Kaido attempts Yagyuu's Laser Beam, but Kirihara transforms into a demon, severely injuring Inui. Kaido also transforms but is restrained by Inui. Inui subsequently collapses, leading Seigaku to forfeit the match. He is rushed to the hospital. This episode marks the point where Ryoma loses his memory.
