Meanwhile, 17-year-old martial artist Jin Mori arrives late for the preliminary tournament while chasing a purse thief on a motorbike. He captures the thief by teaming up with 17-year-old swordswoman Yu Mira and 17-year-old martial artist Han Daewi. The God of High School Martial Arts Tournament allows any fighting style, bare fist or weapon. Fighters receive Nano-machines to monitor vitals and heal injuries for harder combat. The announcer reveals the matches are mass brawls, not duels. Many competitors fall quickly until Commissioner Kang Manseok, a super strong martial artist with handcuffed wrists who fights only with his feet, enters. He humiliates Mira by stealing her bokken, then challenges Mori after Mori dodges attacks and damages one of Manseok's ankles.
EP 2Park Mujin infiltrates the Pentagon while Mori, Daewi, and Mira navigate tournament matches and personal motivations.

After Mori drops his father’s gift bokken in a river, Daewi helps retrieve it. In the next round, Mori, Mira, and Daewi advance. Manseok fights Go Gamdo, a Tai Chi user, using Northern Style Taekwondo for battlefield combat, including eye gouging and groin strikes. Manseok wins and demands mercy, but Mori saves Gamdo. Mori, aided by Daewi, infiltrates the wedding alongside Mira’s uncle and cousin to dissuade her. Mira realizes she must save her sword style herself and cancels the wedding. Enraged, Seongjin summons a Samurai spirit to kill them and escapes with Mira’s bokken. Mira remains unconcerned and decides to re-enter the tournament without it.
