Ep. 1: Akari and Hiroyuki reunite as classmates on the first day of the second year of high school.

The story begins with a flashback to Akari’s childhood, where Hiroyuki assists her after she drops her books in the rain. Years later, the pair are second-year high school students on the first day back from summer break. Akari wakes the sleeping Hiroyuki before their homeroom, where class representative Tomoko Hoshina manages seat assignments. Despite harassment from other students, Tomoko calmly prepares slips for a random draw. Hiroyuki offers to help Tomoko prepare the slips to finish early. After the draw is conducted, Akari is fortunate enough to secure the seat directly next to Hiroyuki.
