Superintendent Ryoko Ibuki informs Councilor Ogata that Ranmaru may be a symbiont, stating she will order his execution if necessary. She subsequently tasks Kureha with verifying this condition. Meanwhile, at the Tokki office, Muramasa instructs Ranmaru to keep Kunikida company, as the latter has been absent due to anger over the NPA denying a search warrant for the forensic building. Ranmaru intends to explain the previous night's events at the forensic building to Kunikida. However, Kureha arrives on her motorbike and requests to take Ranmaru out on a date instead.
