Strange occurrences take place at Laura's school as everyone's footwear vanishes without a trace. Hamtaro decides to act as a private investigator to solve the mystery. Equipped with a magnifying glass, he begins searching for the person responsible for the theft. However, the investigation takes a dangerous turn when the Ham-Hams encounter an escaped monkey. The animal begins chasing the group, creating significant trouble for Hamtaro and his friends as they attempt to continue their search for the missing shoes.
