The Autobot force gathers on Speed Planet for the Great Race, where Override, Dirt Boss, Ransack, and Crumplezone compete in the first round. Ransack and Crumplezone employ dirty tactics, while Override finishes first, followed by Hot Shot and Dirt Boss. Simultaneously, Starscream and Thundercracker persuade Autobot Mudflap to defect to the Decepticons by exploiting his dislike of humans. On Earth, Bud, Lori, and the Mini-cons travel to the city to find a recovered Cybertronian artifact, encountering Dr. Lucy Suzuki. Elsewhere, on Jungle Planet, Overhaul challenges Scourge for the Cyber Planet Key.
