Team A gathers to celebrate Serika and Reiji for passing the third exam. JAXA staff discuss candidate selection, with Hoshika noting Team A's unique promise to reunite. Four days later, Houston announces it will choose one male candidate to join the others. Mutta fears Kenji will be selected over him due to his perceived lack of luck. Meanwhile, Hibito continues training, wondering about Mutta's response. When Mutta spends time with Naoto, he discovers he has been chosen for Houston. This news excites Mutta but also causes him concern regarding Kenji's fate.
