On the day of the final exam, Nanba struggles with leg pain from previous squats. Inside the interview room, Mutta sits before examiners including Azuma and Soichi Noguchi, but his chair breaks because a screw was loosened and Mutta is tense from hiding cramps. After the interviews conclude, candidates and examiners share a celebratory meal. This gathering serves as a decoy to lower the candidates' guard while examiners observe them outside a formal testing setting. During this event, Mutta is secretly questioned about his views on the other candidates. He eventually encounters Azuma directly during these observations.
