Following the death of his grandfather, Souichi Kaga, Daikichi Kawachi and his family gather at the family home for the funeral. During the gathering, Daikichi encounters a young girl named Rin, who is claimed to be Souichi's illegitimate daughter. After the funeral services conclude, the relatives refuse to adopt Rin and instead decide to place her for adoption. Disgusted by their callous behavior and lack of compassion, Daikichi makes the decision to take Rin into his own care, ensuring she has a home despite the family's rejection.
