Ep. 1: Ushio discovers a sealed beast in the store room and faces a moral dilemma.

While organizing books in the store room, Ushio finds a hidden door and a trapped beast inside. The creature, held by a spear, requests Ushio's help to remove it, claiming only a human can do so. However, the beast threatens to eat Ushio and cause chaos among humans, leading Ushio to refuse. The beast's powerful aura then attracts numerous yokai to the location. Faced with this growing threat, Ushio is forced to free the beast in order to defeat the surrounding yokai.
