In the real world, Joe, Silvia, and Junior reunite with their idol Captain Blue. Their reunion is interrupted by a glowing film that leads them to investigate a mystery. They discover that the Black Emperor, leader of Gedow and Blue’s nemesis who caused his trademark scar, has appeared. The Emperor aims to destroy happy endings in movies. He transforms Blue into a hammer and then proceeds to wreak havoc on Movieland.
