Kae and Shinima attend a requiem mass for Hyakki Sametora, the historical basis for Kanchu Ranbu's Lord, while others join to spend time with Kae. Asuma reveals that Sametora's head rests on a separate island from his grave, prompting the group to take swan boats there despite warnings of a curse. A whirlpool strands them on the island, separating Kae and Asuma from the rest. As strange occurrences prevent their escape, the group struggles to reunite while facing the apparent reality of the island's curse.
