Touya’s father intended to celebrate the New Year’s holiday at home, but his health deteriorates rapidly, forcing an immediate return to the hospital. Touya feels deep sadness and disappointment regarding his father’s condition. Several days later, a meeting takes place at Ogata Productions to discuss the Venus Festival, a musical competition for young female singers held annually in February. The rules stipulate that each production company can only enter one group or singer. Rina, having never had the opportunity to participate before, perceives Eiji’s intentions and abruptly announces her decision to go independent, leaving the meeting.
