Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department Superintendent Ryōko Yakushiji and Assistant Inspector Junichirō Izumida investigate a man who rapidly withers and dies in downtown Ginza. While initial evidence suggests a religious cult, the inquiry reveals a connection to an amakudari haven that Yakushiji intends to dismantle. This mission requires her to withstand the interference of rival Superintendent Yukiko Muromachi and survive an assassination attempt. The episode concludes with a cameo by manga author Yoshiki Tanaka, who signs an autograph for a female restaurant visitor.
