After the events of Hoshi no Umi, Zakuro struggles to adjust to her new life in Sakurashin. Meanwhile, Akina visits a memorial dedicated to his grandfather and the youkai tuned by the Hiizumi family. There, he is confronted by Enjin, who attempts to possess his body. Members of the senate intervene and drive Enjin away. However, they are unaware that Enjin quickly learns to control the same power they used to defeat him. This development transforms him into an even more dangerous threat, raising the stakes for those who oppose him.
