Ishizu Ishtar employs the Millennium Necklace to demonstrate how Duel Monsters was played in ancient times through shadow games. These ancient contests have returned in the modern era alongside three powerful entities known as the Egyptian Gods, whose strength surpasses that of Exodia. Ishizu provides Kaiba with the God Soldier of Obelisk card, stipulating that he must organize a tournament to locate the remaining God cards. Kaiba accepts this challenge and departs, convinced that possessing this power will allow him to defeat Yuugi and reclaim his status as the top duelist.
