Kaiba engages in a duel against an enigmatic eighth duelist, who is subsequently identified as Ishizu, the elder sister of Marik. Ishizu intends to reclaim the Obelisk Blue-Eyes Infinity Card and rescue her brother from his own destructive path, guided by visions from her necklace. She exploits Kaiba’s arrogance to set a strategic trap during the match. Meanwhile, Marik attempts to communicate with his sister, but an evil force possessing him forcibly banishes his consciousness from his own body, leaving him unable to intervene.
