During winter break, Jaden and his friends relax in the Slifer dorm cafeteria until an Obelisk student arrives with urgent news. He reveals that he and several Obelisk Blue peers attempted to summon the spirit of Jinzo, the Psycho Shocker, without expecting success. The ritual unexpectedly worked, resulting in Jinzo capturing the souls of the participating students. Jaden and his group venture into the forest to locate the entity. Jaden engages Jinzo in a duel and emerges victorious, causing the spirit to release the captured souls. The following morning, the other students dismiss the incident as a shared dream. However, Jaden remains certain of the reality of the event, confirmed by his ability to perceive the spirit of Winged Kuriboh.
