Kaoru is betrayed and killed by her partner, who is revealed to be a bear. Kureha tends to an injured Ginko and experiences a vision that triggers memories of a long-forgotten friend. She questions Yurika, discovering this friend inspired Reia's book. Ginko remembers her past as an orphaned cub drafted into a war against humans. After being shot and abandoned by other bears, she was saved by a young Kureha, whom she called Lady Kumaria, a name also found in Reia's book. As Kureha realizes Ginko is her lost friend, Lulu discovers a threatening letter addressed to Ginko detailing her alleged crime.
