Ep. 52: Yusuke mourns Genkai after she falls to the Younger Toguro in a past conflict.

The narrative reveals that Genkai and the Younger Toguro were partners fifty years ago. The Younger Toguro sought eternal youth and ultimate strength, leading him to attack a weakened Genkai. Despite her final efforts using her remaining energy, she is overwhelmed and mortally wounded just as Yusuke arrives. She gives Yusuke her dying words before passing away. The Younger Toguro then launches an enraged Yusuke through the forest. Yusuke reminisces about his training under Genkai, mourning her death.
