A group of childhood friends grows distant after Meiko Honma, known as Menma, passes away in an accident. Years later, Jinta Yadomi, the group's former leader, isolates himself from others. He encounters a version of Meiko who is older and tells him she needs a wish fulfilled, though she is unsure of what it is.
