Nanao possesses an ability that sets her apart, allowing her to perceive things others cannot. As her powers intensify, she withdraws from school to escape cruel rumors. Her isolation ends when she encounters Akajita, a boy who claims familiarity with her. Their meeting is interrupted by Yatoh, the Student Council Chairman, who offers them shelter at his residence. Nanao soon learns that Yatoh is knowledgeable in magic and that Akajita is not what he appears to be.
