Ayumu aims to establish a top-tier shogi club at Matsuyama High in Ehime Prefecture, having transferred there to follow Tamaki, a talented player she admires. Her ultimate objective is to win the Ohashi Namihai, a key tournament for aspiring professional shogi players. To strengthen the club, she approaches Kari, another student rumored to possess skills similar to Tamaki's.
