Chi no Soko no Mahoutsukai

In a world where an ancient mage was once destroyed by a monster, two orphans, Kunimi and Chisayo, are taken in by a local landowner and forced into labor. After Chisayo suffers a severe punishment, Kunimi decides to flee with her to escape their harsh conditions. While attempting to escape, they are suddenly engulfed by a large fissure that opens in the ground.
