Dai Youchuu Sasora

Hideo joined his brother Yusuke on a whaling trip to the Southern Ocean during winter break when their ship was attacked by a scorpion-like creature. Hideo used an electric harpoon to repel it, helping the ship escape. Later, Dr. Carl Schmidt appeared on television to identify the creature as Sasora, a red scorpion developed for military purposes by Dr. Von Schmidt's brother in World War II. The project was abandoned when the FBI destroyed the lab in the Amazon, allowing the scorpion to vanish into the jungle. Dr. Carl suggested the creature had been exposed to nuclear radiation, causing it to grow to a large size. He expressed regret for his brother's actions, but soon reports indicated that Sasora was heading toward Tokyo.
