Daitoubou

Maria Egi, orphaned at a young age, is set to inherit property from her grandfather upon reaching adulthood. Her aunt, Masato Shido, intervenes by claiming guardianship, forcing Maria to live with her and her children, Ichiro and Setsuko. On the day her boyfriend, Keiichi Ogi, plans to propose, Maria defends herself by stabbing Ichiro after he attempts to assault her. A lawyer named Imai, working for her aunt, arranges for Maria to be sent to a juvenile detention center. This is part of a scheme by her aunt's family to seize Maria's inheritance. In the detention center, Maria faces bullying, abuse, theft of her food, and is forced to get a black rose tattooed on her left shoulder. These experiences lead her to understand that the world is harsh and that remaining passive will not ensure her survival.
