Nagomu Irino comes back to Kyoto after a decade away when his father is admitted to the hospital. He had hoped to take charge of Ryokushou, the family's traditional Japanese confectionery shop, but instead is tasked with acting as a father to Itsuka Yukihira, the girl who is considered the shop's designated heir.
