Nagomu Irino returns to Kyoto after a decade away when his father is admitted to the hospital. He had hoped to take charge of Ryokushou, the family's traditional Japanese confectionery shop. Instead, he is tasked with mentoring Itsuka Yukihira, the young girl who is considered the shop's designated successor.
