Devil Summoner: Kuzunoha Raidou Tai Kodoku no Marebito

In the 20th year of the Taisho era, Kuzunoha Raidou the 14th returns to the Capital as its protector, operating under the guise of working at Narumi Detective Agency. He is accompanied by a black cat named Gouto-douji. A string of bizarre murders occurs, with victims appearing to have been devoured by an animal. A friend named Tae Asakura warns them of a man likely to be the next victim. When Raidou investigates, the man is possessed by a demon and nearly kills him before collapsing into an empty husk. Raidou identifies the demon as a Manticore. After defeating it, he finds Tae unconscious. Gouto notes the man could not have summoned the demon on his own, indicating another party is involved. Though the killings cease, a mysterious figure behind these events, known as the Marebito Project, remains at large and views Raidou as a major threat.
