Takara Takarada is a naturally gifted actor who delivers powerful performances on stage but is easily distracted and forgetful in daily life. His performances are only possible with the support of Yuujin Kamoshima, his close friend and fellow actor, who both nurtures and envies Takara’s talent. When Takara is offered a chance to move beyond their small theater group and into television, it raises questions about whether he can succeed without Yuujin’s help. Yuujin, left behind, must also deal with the emotional impact of Takara’s sudden departure.
