Eleven Soul

By the middle of the 21st century, human society faces severe decline. Advances in gene technology, driven by commercial demand, have led to rapid scientific progress. The idea of an "immortality" gene has moved from theory to reality. A mishap involving a sample of this gene and a biohazard results in the emergence of a new life-form. These entities incorporate genetic material from nature, evolving into a species that invades human society. Known as the Shahel, they overpower human military defenses, having already taken control of North and South America. The United States and other nations no longer exist. In Japan, the government has developed a specialized unit modeled after samurai, using soldiers enhanced with nano-machines linked to armored exoskeletons to combat the Shahel. Tsukahara Takemichi is assigned to the first platoon at the "Place of the Samurai."
