On a barren Earth where survival is a challenge, Itsuki lives on an island with Jun, his childhood caretaker, after waking from a two-year unconscious state caused by an accident. Itsuki has no memory of the incident but is content as long as he is with Jun. Their peaceful existence is disrupted as their resources begin to run low. One day, they discover a strange machine with a functioning communication device that emits a voice, suggesting the possibility of other survivors. While Itsuki sees this as a chance to secure their future together, Jun reacts with less optimism.
