A mysterious Dark Elf enrolls at Great Cavern Academy, an institution for training top-tier dungeon explorers, in a Tokyo transformed by the "Tokyo Great Cavern" phenomenon. Shortly after arrival, the protagonist is attacked by a dragon and rescued by a red-haired girl named Hanako, who wields a large hammer. The protagonist joins Hanako's team, and their first timed challenge presents an unusual question: "Why don't we just die once and see what happens?"
