Yoshino Reiji is a regular student on Tsukiyomijima Island. After experiencing an unusual crisis, he is rescued by a girl named Sakura, who reveals he is the Missing Number 13. She is his "strategy destruction magic weapon," a form of magic linked to him. Reiji and Sakura must fight the other twelve Mahoutsukai in a ritual resembling a battle royale. To preserve his normal life, Reiji enters the conflict.
