Michitaka Fukatsu has difficulty recognizing faces due to a condition that makes them appear blurred or featureless, resembling eggs. This makes social interactions in school difficult for him. The only person he can consistently identify is Tomose Endou, a girl who also appears to have trouble connecting with others. Together, they seek to live normal lives as high school students, gradually forming a bond as they navigate the challenges of fitting in.
