A student at Noble Academy, Haruka Haruno dreams of becoming a princess. She meets two fairies from the Hope Kingdom, Pafu and Aroma, who are pursued by creatures made by Dyspear. Seeking to spread despair by trapping dreams in the Gate of Desperation, Dyspear's forces are countered when Haruka is given a Princess Perfume, transforming her into Cure Flora. She is later joined by Minami Kaido and Kirara Amanogawa, who become Cure Mermaid and Cure Twinkle. Together, they form the Princess PreCure Team. Their mission is to gather Dress-Up Keys to unlock the Gate of Dreams and shield people's dreams from Dys Dark's influence.
