A meteor shower precedes the emergence of individuals who cannot die. When these people are killed, their bodies return to a prior state, free of all injuries. This leads to widespread confusion and panic. Two centuries pass without a scientific explanation for their condition. These individuals, now called Immortals, are forced into secrecy. They are pursued, taken, and used for experimentation. Unable to die, they are trapped in a life of suffering. A new rumor arises about a figure known as the Undertaker, who is said to be capable of killing the Immortals.
