Gokuraku ni Itaru Imimon

Hayato travels from Tokyo to a remote mountain village in Shikoku to join his friend Takumi, who is returning home. The village reveres a peculiar Buddha statue. The villagers seem distant, and Takumi's grandmother is the only one who is friendly, inviting them to dinner. During the meal, she mentions that Hayato has "brought Buddha closer," causing Takumi to panic and flee the house. He vanishes that night. After this, Hayato finds himself caught up in a sequence of bizarre occurrences.
