A powerful team known as Mugen once controlled a town until they were opposed by the strong and determined Amamiya Brothers. Mugen eventually broke up, and the Amamiya Brothers vanished. Later, five gangs—Sannoh Hoodlum Squad, White Rascals, Oya High School, Rude Boys, and Daruma Ikka—united under the name G-SWORD. They renamed the area SWORD, reflecting their combined group names.
