Honey Honey no Suteki na Boken

In 1907 Vienna, a grand birthday celebration is held for Princess Flora, who entertains numerous suitors. A jewel thief named Phoenix aims to steal the "Smile of the Amazon," a gemstone in the princess’s ring. During the event, Flora becomes upset with Phoenix and throws the ring into a fish, which is then discarded. A young orphan named Honey Honey works as a waitress and owns a cat named Lily, who eats the fish and swallows the ring. The princess announces that whoever returns the ring will marry her, prompting Phoenix and the suitors to chase Lily and Honey. Phoenix meets Honey, who recounts her past and friendship with Lily, and tries to buy the cat, but she refuses and escapes. Pursued by Phoenix and the suitors, Honey and Lily flee in a hot-air balloon. Their journey takes them to several cities as they evade capture. Over time, Honey develops feelings for Phoenix and seeks to protect Lily from the princess.
