Two families, the Hinokami and the Mizunagi, have long-standing hostility and a strict rule against romantic ties between them. Juri, from the Hinokami family, is determined to marry the person chosen for her by her parents. During an outing, she is unexpectedly kissed by a man who belongs to the rival Mizunagi family. The story is a contemporary adaptation of Romeo and Juliet, as interpreted by Watanabe.
