Inochi no Tabekata

Tobi Otogiri, a middle school student, spends little time with classmates, preferring to talk to Baku, a mysterious backpack he got on the day he last saw his older brother. His private conversations are no longer secret when a classmate, Ryuuko, mentions Baku. Odd events begin occurring at school, and Tobi and Ryuuko suspect a creature visible only to them is responsible. Their experiences blur the lines between reality and fantasy, involving both human and nonhuman elements. The story explores themes of life consuming life.
