Iro wa Murasaki
いろはむらさき
A man who owns a bookstore in Yoshiwara is introduced to an artist by a mutual acquaintance. The artist, who later becomes known as Utamaro Kitagawa, is described as eccentric, having once taken the man's geta from a bathhouse. The bookstore owner, a rare publisher, and the artist form a close partnership, contributing to a new cultural movement in Edo.
