At the start of a new semester, high school junior Kuroki is seated next to Mai Chihara, a student known for her gothic style, black hair, and piercing gaze. Labeled a "landmine" girl due to her association with a dark, hyper-feminine aesthetic often linked to erratic behavior, Chihara draws Kuroki’s attention after an accidental interaction. Contrary to her reputation, she appears more approachable than expected, though still somewhat unusual. Kuroki cautiously explores her personality and peculiar habits, questioning whether her reputation is exaggerated or if there are genuine warning signs hidden beneath her appearance.
