Fukusuke, an ordinary young man, experiences love at first sight with Yua, the most attractive girl in class. Rumors suggest she is dating Yuusei, Fukusuke's best friend and a star basketball player. Accepting his role as a background character, Fukusuke meets Usuba Amari, a very cute girl who remains unnoticed due to Yua's presence. Amari asks Fukusuke to be her friend, and they bond over their shared sense of being overlooked. Together, they begin practicing how to appear more socially normal.
